INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION

ISCM stands for International Society of Contemporary Music, an international organisation for contemporary art music which was founded in 1923. It is an important international network for promotion of contemporary art music. At present it counts about 50 members from all corners of the world. The national sections are each independent organisations which provide efforts to promote the contemporary music in their own country or cultural region. More info on www.iscm.org


ISCM-VLAANDEREN

The Flemish section of ISCM has very diverse persons and organisations among its members: composers, ensembles, individual musicians, musicologists, music journalists, concert houses, festivals, educative organisations en documentation centers. In short: ISCM-Flanders aims to be a platform for everyone who is professionally active in the field of contemporary art music in Flanders. ISCM-Flanders organises lots of activities to increase the reputation of Flemish composers and musicians in the country and outside. Amongst other things we organise an annual meeting day and we send entries to the other editions of the World Music Days.
ISCM-Flanders also supports and initiates international exchange projects, like for instance RE:NEW Music. Regular exchanges with other ISCM-sections generate interesting mutual acquaintances. More info on www.iscm-vlaanderen.be


THE FRENCHSPEAKING SECTION OF ISCM IN BELGIUM

The Forum des Compositeurs is since September 2009 Affiliate Member of ISCM. This organisation was founded in 2002 and comprises some forty performers and composers. The Forum des Compositeurs aims to promote contemporary music in the Frenchspeaking Community Wallonia - Brussels. Among their core activities are the organisation of an annual festival around the end of November (LOOP Festival), the support of the organisation of concerts (among which the "Focus", a series where the audience meets the composer) and the publication of a revue (Carnets du Forum).
